No Jive Jesus Is Alive Falls Festival

Photo Gallery 3

In 1977 Christian Brothers ventured into the realm of Jesus Music Festivals. The festivals were held at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden, AL. We continued the festivals till 1980.

The first two festivals were held in the area beyond the parks Pioneer Village. The last festival was held at the stage above the falls. I remember the sound crew had a difficult time that year because the waterfalls was behind the stage. Sheesh!

The New Covenant Players

The New Covenant Players from Merridian, MS were invited up each year to provide skits during transitions on the main stage. I remember vividly the crusifiction skit when they used Randy Matthews song "Didn't He" as the theme. Their drama always packed a wallup.
Record Store

Christian Brothers Book & Records made early contemporary Christian music "Jesus Music" available to the area. Christian Music just wasn't easy to get hold of in the 70's.

Dan Noojin and Don Rakestraw spent some time setting up this shot of the sound system. The system was put together for the Festival and later taken on the road. People responsible for pulling it all together and running it were: Derrick Mitchell, Don Rakestraw, Brook Finlayson, David Creel and Barry Goss and Dan Noojin. I hope I didn't leave anyone out.
