Free House
I was just a kid when the original prayer meetings started. I have memories of the original Free House Coffeehouse that we opened back on South Fifth Street in the early seventies. The coffeehouse changed it's locations several times until it finally ended up on 419 Broad Street in Downtown Gadsden, Alabama.
I've recently had a good many people ask me about Christian Brothers Association / Skylight Coffeehouse. I thought that a web site would the perfect mode in which to allow past members to share their story.
I want to let you meet the people that God used throughout the years. Though some of these sweet folk are no longer with us, most are still around. I want them to tell you their testimony, their stories.
If you were a member, I want you to have a chance to share your experience and re-establish contact with family members you haven't seen in a while. It is my hope that after you continue to pray for one another's lives and ministries. God bless!

Once There Was A Prayer Meeting
Before there was a Christian Brothers Assoc. there was a coffeehouse. Before there was a coffeehouse, a music festival, concerts, record store, sound company, there was a prayer meeting.
The times that the ministry florished were the times that we all prayed together. We suffered when we were not seeking God as a whole. We flourished when we were seeking His vision and not our own.
Looking at this particular photograph reminds me of a wonderful time in my life. It was a great because his love and vision was burning in each of us. We were indeed a band of Christian Brothers. I loved everyone of these people, some were family and the rest I loved as family.
What a ministry and what a time! I found new family before and after this photo was taken. I miss seeing so many of them.
So while you are here take the time to read the text, I will do my best to keep this site fresh with new stuff. There are a bunch of photos at the bottom of BROOKS ACCOUNT, so don't pass over anything.
